Ohio man who confessed to fatal DUI case wants to speak at high schools

COLUMBUS — Matthew Cordle pleaded guilty to hitting and killing Vincent Canzani on Interstate 670. Cordle drew national attention for a video he released on YouTube confessing to the crime. A judge gave him six and a half years. Cordle has stated that he would like to go a speak at high schools about his bad decisions but the prison said they will not be letting him out for visits any time soon.   Read More »

Woman Charged With DUI While Driving Rob Ford’s SUV

Rob Ford is reportedly behaving himself in rehab, yet somehow he still managed to get entangled in a new controversy. On Tuesday afternoon 36-year-old Lee Anne McRobb was arrested for drunk driving in Ontario’s Muskoka region while driving the Toronto mayor’s black Cadillac Escalade. She was charged with impaired driving and driving over the legal limit, and the SUV has been impounded for seven days, according to the Toronto Sun. Report: repeat DUI offenders remain an issue in Montana

GREAT FALLS, MT (KPAX) – The Report to the Nation from Mothers Against Drunk Driving shows that Montana has done little to reduce drunk driving since 2003. “Montana leads the nation in deaths-per-capita, and deaths-per-vehicle-mile-traveled for DUI offenses. We are not in very good shape. We have some things we can do,” said former Praire County Attorney Erin Inman. Chandler police officer suspected of DUI

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) – Authorities say a Chandler police officer has been arrested after arriving at a job while drunk. Chandler police say the 53-year-old officer was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after arriving at an extra-duty job. Police spokesman Detective Seth Tyler says the officer’s partner at the job noticed he was impaired and called for assistance. Read More »

Ill. lawmakers advance plan to ease DUI penalties

SPRINGFIELD (AP) – Drunken driving offenders stripped of their driver’s licenses could hit the road again if a proposal – supported by a prominent anti-drunken driving organization – keeps making its way through the Illinois Legislature. A House committee voted 15-0 Wednesday to approve legislation that would allow four-time DUI offenders to obtain a restricted driver’s permit, which limits the time and place a person can drive.
