Flagstaff police get $40K for DUI enforcement

The Flagstaff Police Department has received a $40,000 DUI enforcement grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The grant will help FPD staff DUI task forces on days when DUI activity is highest in Flagstaff, such as holidays, NAU back-to-school weeks, homecoming, prom and graduation weekends. The grant will also help FPD pay for community education programs to inform Flagstaff residents about DUI laws and the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The Police ... Man Helps Others On Anniversary Of Fatal Columbus DUI Crash

COLUMBUS, Ohio – June 22nd, 2013, a 3 am collision on I-670. Vincent Canzani was killed by Matthew Cordle who left the bar drunk and drove the wrong way. Cordle confessed to the accident with a video posted on YouTube through the non-profit “Because I Said I Would,” an organization about keeping promises. A double standard for TV on DUI cases?

The question of how a local media outlet should best handle the arrest of one of its on-air employees on DUI [driving under the influence] charges was recently posed to me. It occurred on the “Miller and Brinson” show on KXNO radio.
