Mich. public safety director on leave after DUI arrest following crash

Geoffrey Smith, public safety director for the City of Sturgis, has been arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after an early morning crash. Smith has been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation from his job. Jupiter police: Driver in fatal DUI crash told officers she’d just killed someone

JUPITER — Moments after a crash Saturday night in Jupiter left a bicyclist dead, a motorist told police she’d just killed someone, she shouldn’t have been driving and she was going to jail, according to a police report. Janelle Nutting, 32, of Riviera Beach is charged with DUI manslaughter in the death of Tyler W. Thomas, 31, of Juno Beach. She is free on $50,000 bond. NHP finds 6 pounds of heroin during DUI stop in Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Nevada Highway Patrol troopers made a major drug bust overnight, finding over six pounds of heroin. Law enforcement made the discovery late Thursday night during a DUI investigation in the Las Vegas valley. According to authorities, the driver in the vehicle was taken into custody and the six pounds of heroin were confiscated during a vehicle search. Sayreville man charged with DUI in Old Bridge deadly motorcycle wreck

OLD BRIDGE – A Sayreville man has been charged in a drunken driving crash that killed the passenger of his motorcycle. Jack Piatek, 27, was arrested Saturday and charged with vehicular homicide by driving while under the influence of alcohol, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said in a statement. LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 1-year-old boy was killed in a car crash in Las Vegas following a deadly crash that occurred over the weekend. DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DUI AFTER FRIDAY NIGHT ACCIDENT

State police say they arrested a Plumville man for suspicion of driving under the influence last Friday night after an accident on Five Points Road in Washington Township. Police say a pickup driven by 58-year-old Mark Fleming hit the guide rails near Hill Road and Fleming continued on to his mother’s home a few miles away.
