Former MLB player Johnny Damon arrested for DUI

WINDERMERE, Fla. (WSVN) — Former MLB player Johnny Damon has been arrested for driving under the influence in Florida.

Another celebrity arrest, showing that fame doesn’t equate with perfection. While celebrities are arrested for DUI with some regularity, the concerning part of this case is the allegation of resisting arrest without violence. In “police speak” that charge can range from simply refusing a breath test, pulling away or struggling when the cuffs go on, or mouthing off to the officers. In many cases that charge is an add-on indicating the officer’s subjective opinion that the arrestee was “being difficult”.
