TUSCALOOSA — Former Alabama standout and current assistant strength coach Josh Chapman was arrested Saturday morning for driving under the influence, according to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office online jail database.
This is Chapman’s second DUI charge in the last 2 ½ years after previously being arrested for the same offence on Jan. 29, 2017.
Chapman, a former nose guard at Alabama from 2007-11 who was an integral part of the Crimson Tide’s defensive line during its 2009 and 2011 national championship seasons, was held in jail Saturday morning on a $1,000 bond.
Chapman, 30, has served as a valued assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Alabama football team since the 2016 season. Chapman spent four years (2012-15) in the NFL after being drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL draft.
The Tuscaloosa News was first to report Chapman’s arrest Saturday. This post will be updated as more information is made available.
