UPDATE | Georgia State Patrol tells News 12 NBC 26 the driver who hit three children on an off-road vehicle was driving too fast for conditions and was arrested and charged for several charges including a DUI of Drugs.
GSP said 29-year-old Amanda Holsomback was traveling north on Boll Weevil Road approaching a left curve. State Patrol said Holsomback rounded the curve just as a group of three children in a Polaris off-road vehicle were turning around in a driveway.
GSP said the Chevy drove onto a graded dirt embankment and simultaneously struck the Polaris in the right rear as it was turning around on the property near the driveway. After impact, the Chevy rotated and rolled over once landing on its top.
Investigators said the Polaris also rolled over at least one time and landed on its wheels upright.
Three kids, two 12-year-old’s and one 9-year-old, were inured in this crash. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office said they are in stable condition with cuts and bruises. Deputies said the young girl involved in the crash has a broken elbow.
