Suspect found guilty in Lodi DUI crash that killed family

STOCKTON, Calif. (KCRA) —A San Joaquin County jury found a Lodi man guilty Wednesday of six counts of second-degree murder in a 2013 DUI crash that killed five family members and an unborn baby in Lodi.

Ryan Morales was also found guilty of driving under the influence and numerous other charges.

Morales was arrested a few weeks after the October 2013 crash that killed Luis Miranda, his wife Vivian Rodriguez, who was seven months pregnant, as well as three of their children, police said.

The couple’s 9-year-old son Eden Miranda was the only family member to survive the crash.

Morales, who was 28 years old at the time of the crash, was initially charged with six counts of murder and six counts of vehicular manslaughter.
