Police arrested a Long Beach DUI driver after she allegedly struck and killed a pedestrian with an SUV on Pacific Coast Highway, according to the Seal Beach Police Department.
On Sunday just after midnight, the SBPD responded to the area of Pacific Coast Highway near Temescal Canyon Road regarding a crash, and upon arrival, officers found a male pedestrian unresponsive after he had been struck by a vehicle, police said. Officers immediately began lifesaving efforts, but the pedestrian had died due to his injuries.
The vehicle, which allegedly struck the pedestrian, was a gray, 2018 Ford Edge, police said. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 30-year-old Elizabeth Landess, of Long Beach. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for felony driving under the influence and was booked at the Orange County Jail, according to police.
