Man accused of killing teen in DUI crash returns to court

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – A man accused of driving drunk and killing a teen one month shy of high school graduation could move forward to trial Monday.

Or Michael Fay may enter a plea deal instead.

Fay, 53, returns to court for an arraignment Monday, near four months after the April 14 crash that killed Michael Finley. Finley was on his way to meet friends on a Friday night when State Patrol says Fay made an abrupt left and collided with the 18-year-old’s oncoming car.

Fay has remained in jail since the crash and is being held on a $25,000 bond. He faces DUI and vehicular homicide charges. A judge previously ruled that there was enough evidence to go to trial, but Monday Fay will have a chance to enter a plea if he chooses.
