PITTSBURGH —A man who police say was drunk when he crashed his car, killing a young Penn Hills woman, turned himself in Tuesday.
Court records show Tyrone Stephen Jackson, 30, of Pittsburgh, faces charges that include felony homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence. A warrant was issued for his arrest Monday in connection with the March 13 crash.
Pittsburgh police said Briauna Slaughter, 21, was ejected from the vehicle when it crashed in the 6800 block of Penn Avenue in Point Breeze. She later died at a hospital.
“She was a beautiful person — just, she was the true definition of a pure soul,” said Slaughter’s brother, Tyler Kirkland. “She was so loving and caring.”
