A Warwick School Committee member is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges including assault and DUI.
The Warwick Police Department told NBC 10 that it received a report of Karen Bachus’ car driving erratically in the area of City Hall last month.
After performing standard field sobriety tests, the department says officers decided to take Bachus to police headquarters.
The department says Bachus was asked to stay seated and as she tried to walk away, she then allegedly struck an officer.
The arraignment is scheduled for Thursday morning, according to court data.
NBC 10 has previously reached out to Bachus for comment on multiple occasions.
